TIME TABLE AND ACADEMIC CALENDAR COMMITTEE

A well-constructed time table establishes a natural rhythm and routine which can be comforting for teachers and students. The time table committee configures the time table every year and ensures that it is published and made available on prescribed day. It also makes necessary changes in time table in case of clash of subjects opted by students.

A carefully designed schedule creates a harmonious flow and regularity that can provide comfort to both teachers and students. The committee responsible for creating the timetable ensures its publication and availability on the designated day. Additionally, they make adjustments to the timetable if there are conflicts between subjects chosen by students.

Objective:

  1. Prepare and publish Academic Calendar and College Diary before commencement of the academic year.
  2. Prepare the time table in the prescribed format at the beginning of every semester.
  3. All activities are planned according to the time table and calendar.

Term:

The term of the members of the Committee is two years.

Meetings:

The committee shall meet at least twice in a semester.

Role and Functions:

1.The Convener and the members of the committee will be responsible for preparing the entire Time- Table of the college in the prescribed format at the beginning of every semester with the active involvement of the members of the timetable committee by collecting details of workload distribution of faculty members, course allotment, assigning of classrooms and common resources (classrooms, tutorial rooms) and taking into account programme-specific requirements.

2.To facilitate collaboration and sharing of best practices across programmes.

3.To prepare the timetables of individual faculty members and by referring to the class timetables.

4.Assigning subjects to the faculty based on their specialization and preferences that were approved by the Head of the department.

5.Maintaining a Timetable committee file.

6.Posting the class Timetables on the respective classroom boards.

7.Attempting to resolve the conflicts within the faculty regarding the published Timetable.

8.Providing the information regarding Timetables and venue to any of the departmental committees.

9.Reviewing and managing the Timetables and addressing any of the conflicts regarding the clashes in the Timetables.

10.Once the Time-Table is circulated and implemented the coordinator and members will make changes in the allotment of classrooms with permission of the principal.
