Anti Ragging Cell

RIWAR COLLEGE ANTI RAGGING CELL

To enlighten the students about the Anti-Ragging Act “UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009”, the College has set up an Anti-Ragging Committee with the faculty members of the various departments of the college, guardian and legal expert from outside the College.

The Anti-Ragging Committee will be the monitoring agency in preserving a Ragging Free Environment in the college Campus. 

Objectives:

The main objectives of this cell are as follows:

1. To prohibit any conduct by any student or students whether by words spoken or written or by an act which has the effect of teasing, treating or handling with rudeness a fresher or any other student which causes or is likely to cause annoyance, hardship or psychological harm or to raise fear or apprehension thereof in any fresher or any other student.
2. Takes precautions to avoid ragging activities in and out of the college campus and at other locations.
3. Takes affidavits from the students and parents regarding Ragging during the Admission.
4. To make the students aware of the dehumanizing effect of ragging by Canvases about anti-ragging in the forms of Flexes, Posters and Boards in college premises and surrounding areas where there is a chance of ragging.
5. Provides helpline details inside and outside college premises.
6. To keep a continuous watch and vigil over students so as to prevent the occurrence and recurrence ragging.
7. To promptly and stringently take up the incidents of ragging brought to notice. 
8. To generate an atmosphere of discipline by sending a clear message that no act of ragging shall be tolerated and any act of ragging shall not go unnoticed and unpunished.

The Cell in order to implement its objectives had implemented:

1. The mandatory filling up of the Anti-Ragging undertaking by every student and their parent taking admission.
2. The setting up of an Anti-Ragging Monitoring Squad.
