RIWAR COLLEGE RANGTHYLLIANG - PYNURSLA
Riwar College was established by the Seng Khasi Riwar Mihngi under the leadership of Shri. Lening Bareh, Shri. Mangkashang Khongshei and Shri. Shining Star Khongthohrem, driven by a shared vision to fulfill the aspirations of the youth in Pynursla and its surrounding areas to pursue higher education. Although the idea of establishing a college had been envisioned by its members for a long time, it materialized on 29th June 2009 with the launch of the B.A. (General) course under the aegis of Seng Khasi College, Shillong.
It may be mentioned that Riwar College is affiliated (Provisional) with the Central University, the North-Eastern Hill University, Shillong.

VISION:
The College will focus on core universal human values of Truth, Peace Loving, Righteous Conduct, Non-Violence and the values enshrined in the Constitution of India. Also, by building on the vibrancy of the principles of inclusiveness, integrity, innovation, creativity, and quality. Empowered through resources, collegiality and public support, it inspires participatory global citizenship grounded with critical thinking and engaged in scientific temperament.
OBJECTIVES & MISSION OF THE COLLEGE:
- To create excellent educational system in Riwar area synthesizing the Indian Traditional Cultural Values with best quality of teachings using modern techniques and methods.
- To develop socially – conscious Indian Citizens of tomorrow who will provide enlightened leadership in Social Life.
- The College will promote equal importance to experimental lifestyles and personality development of all students.
- To prevent youths from falling prey in anti-social activities and insurgency.
- Provision of additional facilities in backward/rural and tribal areas.
- Creation of cadres of competent and dedicated teachers/leaders/workmen to serve the society
